Brothers Marty and Randy Gunter have been selling bedding and furniture for over 38 years in the Sanford-Lee County area. They're just a couple of "Good Old Country Boys", as Marty says, that want to serve their customers the way they would want to be served themselves. Think: Golden Rule
This down home friendly approach to customer service has kept customers coming back time and time again. This is truly a family owned and operated business. "We try to keep our prices down, so people can afford our mattresses and furniture", says Marty. "We offer great quality at discount prices".
The business began in 1969 as Gunter Bros. Furniture. In 2003 they built Hawkins Plaza in Sanford which houses other local merchants as well. Once it opened, they decided to continue servicing the area with quality mattresses from BEMCO, a manufacturer they have worked with since day one.
As business grew once again, they naturally had customers looking for more items and thus began adding recliners, then sofas and now a full line of furnishings for the home once again.
Marty is quick to point out that after 38 years of selling BEMCO mattresses, they have only replaced 2 mattresses. Even those were not manufacturing defaults, they just wanted to help the customers that damaged the items themselves. Yeah, we like that "country boy" way of thinking.
Best of all, you'll never find the "high pressure" sales tactics you might find elsewhere. These two are really "laid back" but, maybe that's because of all the recliners and mattresses they sell.
